There are simply too many strategies that can help you profit from the forex market. You can’t learn them all simple because you don’t have enough time to use them, test them and apply them in all your trades. Even if you have enough time, your capital will be a problem too.

Some strategies will involve simple moing averages, intraday trading or even trading over a 5 minute period chart. Others use long term strategies so that there are bigger moving averages and bigger profits.

If you plan to trade forex over a long run, it is much better to have a big stop loss so that swings won’t kill your pocket. By focusing on these swings or trends, you would be using a smaller time chart to trade with. You would definitely be using a smaller stop loss since there will be less swings in smaller time frames.

If you plan to implement some strategies that you have learned, it is best to practice it on a forex simulator. Over a period of time of practicing on the simulator, you will be able to figure out which strategies best fit your style. You might even start to develop your own style as well. Different personalities will definitely have different styles of trading, so it entirely depends on how you see the forex market as.

Aside from having strategies on how to trade, you need to understand money management as well. If you are not good in managing money, no matter how good you are in your trades, you might lose your hard earned profits in just a short amount of time.

You also have to take account the risk of every single trade. Your investing pot might not be able to withstand the consecutive losing trades and you might have to choose other trades just to save money for a higher chance of a winning trade.

In conclusion, you should learn a few trading strategies and try to adapt them to your own style. By persisting, you will be able to achieve success in the forex market.
